Traditional Wisdom for Food Systems Transformation

„Turning the world’s food systems into sustainable systems requires integrating and promoting traditional and regenerative food systems that Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) have been nurturing for centuries. The Local and Indigenous Knowledge Systems (LINKS) that promote regenerative and ancestral techniques for sustainable management of forests, food production, and conservation efforts are the result of long and deep observations on nature cycles, as well as a deep spiritual awareness and connection to oneself, others, and nature. LINKS have been passed down from generation to generation through rituals, ceremonies and oral tradition. This cultural and “living” component is the result of complex and historical processes rooted in a territory, a community, and their surrounding biodiversity. Cultural and consciousness approaches are increasingly recognized as the key to unlock systems change.“
